Thanks to Kevin Hecht, Susan Portillos, Bob Coate & his daughter Hazel for being White & Steele’s volunteers for May! The White & Steele Metro Caring volunteering night is on the last Tuesday of each month, as this is the busiest distribution night for the food bank. Metro Caring tries to give each household enough food to feed them for a whole week, so that means thousands of pounds of food to process & hand out.
“We had a blast. Much more interesting this time because we were in the storefront and working with the shoppers as opposed to being in the back last time. Really got to see how appreciative the shoppers were for this and I was impressed over the quality of the items. No question that all volunteers are really needed and it remains very important that we continue to volunteer our time.” -Bob Coate
“Again, very worthwhile. Interesting to work in the produce aisle. I promoted myself to produce manager.” -Kevin Hecht
With hundreds of families counting on Metro Caring, it is a vital part of the community—& volunteers are a vital part of keeping Metro Caring running! The next White & Steele volunteering night is Tuesday, June 30th from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Come join us and see what all the fuss is about!
