Stephen G. Sparr was born in Denver, Colorado.
After receiving his law degree and immediately upon completion of the bar exam, Steve began employment with White and Steele; he was named a partner in the firm in July 1986. He is a second generation Colorado lawyer. His father, the Honorable Daniel B. Sparr, was a United States District Court Judge for the District of Colorado.
Steve began his practice doing civil litigation, workers’ compensation, and representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He worked directly with national representatives of the F.D.I.C. in closing banks in the Denver area and in dealing with the defunct banks’ assets, once they were assumed by the F.D.I.C. His civil litigation experience includes motor vehicle accidents, products liability claims, insurance coverage disputes, negligent repair work and explosion cases.
His practice now focuses solely on workers’ compensation litigation. His work involves weekly workers’ comp hearings before judges at the Office of Administrative Courts. He has also served on administrative panels for the Division of Workers’ Compensation. This has provided invaluable insight and expertise in relation to the growing trend towards alternative methods of dispute resolution. Mr. Sparr is a past president of the workers’ compensation section of the Colorado Bar Association and is listed in the book, “Best Lawyers in America”, 7th Edition.
